Ghar Tak Fibre Scheme 2021
Village level entrepreneur PM Narendra Modi announced in his 74th Independence Day speech that before 2014, only 5 dozen gram panchayats were connected with optical fiber. In the last 5 years, about 1.5 lakh gram panchayats have been connected to the optical fiber network.
In the coming 1000 days, the central government will work to connect every village in the country with optical fiber under PM Ghar Tak Fiber Yojana, to realize PM Modi ‘s dream of Digital India. In order to take this scheme further faster, the Modi government has launched the PM Ghar Tak Fiber Project 2021 to provide high speed internet connectivity to the people.

Fiber To The Home (FTTH) Through CSC
Furthering PM Modi’s vision of connecting villages through optical fiber networks, the CSC Common Service Center under PM Ghar Tak Fiber Yojana aims to provide Fiber to the Home broadband internet connectivity.
This FTTH connectivity will be provided in 45,945 villages in about 8,900 gram panchayats, where Wi-Fi and FTTH are functional through BharatNet project . It is expected that by the end of next year i.e. by FY 2021, optical fiber network will be spread in all the villages.

BharatNet Project

BharatNet is a project of national importance, a highly scalable network infrastructure accessible on a non-discriminatory basis, affordable broadband connectivity from 50 MBPS to 100 MBPS for all households, and on-demand capacity to all institutions. , To realize the dream of Digital India in partnership with states and the private sector.
The entire project is being funded by the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF), which was established to improve telecommunications services in rural and remote areas of the country.
