The Central Government has launched the Affordable Rental Housing Complex (ARHC) Scheme 2020 under the flagship Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In this PMAYU ARHC scheme, the government will provide affordable rental housing to the migrant workers and urban poor to live.
Migrants and poor people will have to pay less rent on housing and this allows poor people to save more money than their income. The Indian central government will provide incentives to the business companies, state government, agencies, unions to provide housing facilities at a low rent to the laborers of their country.
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to large-scale reverse migration of laborers/urban poor. These migrants generally live in slums, informal/unauthorized colonies, or peri-urban areas saving on high rental charges.
They may not be interested in proprietary housing and usually look for affordable rental options. The ARHCs aim to improve the living conditions of the urban migrants/poor by providing them all basic amenities near their place of work at an affordable rent. Just as online applications are accepted for Pradhan Mantri Shahari Awas Yojana, in the same way, online application forms for PMAY Affordable Rental Housing Complex Scheme are accepted by the central government from private/public institutions. Below is the complete process of how to fill ARHC registration form online Given which you can follow:-
- To fill the ARHC registration form, first of all visit the official website http://arhc.mohua.gov.in/
- After that click on the “Login” tab present in the menu on the home page because unless you click on the login button you will not see the link of registration on the home page
- As soon as you click on the Login button, now another new option “Registration” will be added in the menu bar and the login page of ARHC (Affordable Rental Housing Complexes) Scheme will appear in front of you.
- Now you have to click on the link “Private/Public Entities” under “Registration” tab . Now in front of you, ARHC online registration form will open
- Here applicants can enter all the details accurately and submit the completely filled ARHC Registration Form to complete the application process.
Note – For taking the house on rent, migrant workers/urban poor have to fill ARHC application/registration form. ARHC Scheme Beneficiary
Beneficiaries for ARHCs will be urban migrants/poor who are labor from EWS/LIG categories, urban poor (street vendors, rickshaw pullers, and other service providers), industrial workers as well as those from markets/trade associations, educational/health institutions, hospitality sector There will be migrants working together. Affordable Rental Housing Complexes Scheme Chart
Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs) is a sub-scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Urban (PMAY-U).
ARHCs means an empaneled project consisting of at least 40 Dwelling Units (DUs) along with basic civic infrastructure like water, sanitation, sewerage/septage, roads, electricity with necessary social/commercial infrastructure for an urban citizen and Dormitory mix. Poor from EWS/LIG categories.
DU will include a single bedroom up to 30 sqm and living area, a double bedroom up to 60 sqm with kitchen, toilet, and bathroom, dormitory beds up to 10 sqm each. A maximum of one-third of the units (33%) are allowed in a project with 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, toilet, and bathroom. ARHC will be implemented through two models:
Model-1 : Using existing government-funded vacant houses to convert them into ARHC under Public-Private Partnership.
Model-2 : Construction, operation, and maintenance of ARHCs by private/public entities on their vacant land.
There will be 2 broad approaches for the effective implementation of the ARHC scheme. Firstly the existing vacant government-funded housing complexes will be converted into ARHC through a concession agreement for 25 years.
As per official figures, 1.2 lakh such government houses are available under the housing schemes of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), PMAYU, and other state governments. Of these, Maharashtra has 35,000 houses while Delhi has 30,000 houses.
