Objectives of PMMVY Scheme

Targeted beneficiaries OF PMMVY

Case of Miscarriage/Still Birth

(i) A beneficiary is eligible to receive benefits under the pmmvy scheme only once.(ii) In case of abortion / still birth, the beneficiary will be eligible to claim the remaining installment in the event of any future pregnancy.(iii) Thus, after receiving the first installment, if the beneficiary is miscarried, he is eligible to receive the second and third installment only in the event of future pregnancy to fulfill the eligibility criteria and conditionalities of the pmmvy scheme. Similarly, if the beneficiary's miscarriage or birth still occurs after receiving the first and second installment, she will be eligible to receive the third installment in the event of future pregnancy to fulfill the eligibility criteria and conditionalities of the pmmvy scheme.

Case of Infant Mortality:

A beneficiary is eligible to receive benefits under the scheme only once. In case of infant mortality, she will not be eligible to claim benefits under the scheme, if she has already received all the installments of maternity benefit under PMMVY. Pregnant and lactating AWWs / AWHs / ASHA can also avail benefits under PMMVY

Benefits under PMMVY 

A cash incentive of Rs 5000 under PMMVY will be directly credited to the account of pregnant women and lactating women (PW and LM), who are subject to specific conditions relating to maternal and child health to the family child. Eligible beneficiaries will get the remaining cash incentive as per the approved norms for maternity benefit under Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) after institutional delivery, so that on average a woman will get Rs 6000. On initial registration of Anganwadi Center (AWC) / approved health facility, the cash installment incentive amount will be provided to the woman in three installments. The first installment will be ₹ 1000. Similarly after 6 months the second installment will be ₹ 2000 and another installment amount will be provided to the woman. Will be provided

While submitting the form, the beneficiary will have to submit Aadhaar details of herself and her husband along with their written consent, mobile number of their / husband / family member and account details of their bank / post office.4. All the prescribed forms can be obtained free of cost from the AWC / approved health facility.
