Government has fixed a new Muhurta for marriage in Karnataka from January 2023 to April 2023 in government Saptapadi scheme. Previously, there were plans to hold mass marriages twice in the same year. But following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the government decided to hold it twice a month starting in 2023.

The Government of Karnataka first launched the Saptapadi Vivah Yojana on 10 January 2020. Under this mass marriage scheme, the state government provides Rs 55,000 to newly married couples. For this assistance candidates have to register themselves in Karnataka temples Saptapadi Marriage Scheme 2022.
All those new couples who are going to get married in the coming days can avail Saptapadi marriage scheme. The government plans to conduct about 1,000 marriages in 90-100 temples.

assistance to be given under the Saptapadi marriage scheme

- The bride will get – Saree, Rs 1,000 cash and 8 grams of gold for “Mangalya (Mangalsutra)”.
- The groom gets a shirt, dhoti, Rs 5,000 in cash

Check Saptapadi Vivah dates
The upcoming marriage dates of Saptapadi Vivah Yojana are yet to be announced by the government. The government will soon announce the new marriage dates for 2022-23.
The Karnataka state government also reported that the department has selected a few temples where mass marriages will take place. CM BS Yediyurappa also confirmed that the government will help communities like Muslims and Christians to organize mass marriages according to their respective rituals.
Eligibility Criteria for Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Karnataka state.
- Only mass marriages held in pre-selected temples are eligible.
- If the couple wants to receive help, both parents must attend the ceremony.
- If applicants wish to marry without their parents’ permission, those couples are not eligible.
- Also, those who want to have a love marriage are not eligible and will not be able to benefit from the scheme.
Required documents From the Saptapadi Vivah Scheme
Citizens of the state who want to get benefits under this government scheme, i.e. want to get married under this government scheme, must submit the following documents:
- Proof of identity
- Address proof
- residency certificate
- Proof of age
- caste certificate
- letter of consent from their parents
Saptapadi Vivah Yojana 2023 Registration
Karnataka government CM BS Yediyurappa first launched Saptapadi Vivah Yojana on 10 January 2020. Under this mass marriage scheme, the state government provides Rs 55,000 to newly married couples. For this assistance candidates need to register for Karnataka Saptapadi Marriage Scheme 2022 in temples.
All those couples who want to get married must register in the temple 30 days before the scheduled date of marriage. Subsequently, a list of all eligible couples will be prepared. All applicants must then marry in a mass wedding ceremony. The State Government will provide this assistance under the Saptapadi Vivah Yojana 2020-21 in a mass marriage programme.
The Chief Minister of Karnataka had earlier released the logo and pamphlets of the ‘Saptapadi’ mass wedding ceremony.
The Karnataka state government has reported that the department has selected a few temples for mass weddings. CM BS Communities such as Muslims and Christians have confirmed that the government will help organize mass marriages according to their customs.
Saptapadi Vivah Scheme Application Form Step by Step Process
Step 1. Mode of application- The application process is kept offline for people. Applicants must enter their married name in the scheme one month before the scheduled date.
Step 2. Visiting the temple – Now the applicant has to visit one of the pre-selected temples and submit the scheme application form
Step 3. Completing the form Then he/she has to fill the nomination form with the information of the applicant.
Step 4. Form submission – Then the applicant should attach all the copies of the required documents and send them to the temple or the related office.
Step 5. Checking the Scheme list – After submitting the application, a list of approved candidates will be published soon.
