The full name of this Modi government scheme is: Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana In this plan, the full meaning of YUVA is something like this: young, future, versatile, authors. This scheme was launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Singh Modi. Through this, young voters below 30 years of age will be selected and the winner will be given Rs 50,000 as scholarship for 6 months.
The scheme will help train young writers to promote Indian heritage, culture and knowledge, which will enable them not only to write on various subjects but also give young aspiring writers an opportunity to write in their mother tongue and represent India internationally. This program will be in line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of a global citizen and will restore India as Guru Vishwa.

Mentoring Objective of YUVA Scheme
The main objective of this youth scheme is to promote the country’s culture and heritage. This scheme comes under the central government and only residents of India can apply for this scheme. The scheme will create a pool of young writers under the age of 30 who want to present themselves and Indian culture on any international platform and help in presenting Indian culture and literature globally.
Young writers will be trained to become proficient in writing various genres of fiction, non-fiction, travelogue, memoir, drama, poetry and the like. It will promote reading and learning as a preferred profession, on a par with other work options, thereby inspiring the country’s children to make learning and teaching an integral part of their lives. Apart from this, this government program will motivate the youth in a positive direction while taking care of their mental health during the difficult times of the pandemic.

PM Yuva Yojana Features
- A total of 75 writers will be selected through a competition across India on MyGov.
- The selection will be made by a committee established by the NBT.
- This contest will run from June 4 to July 31, 2021.
- Under the Mentoring Scheme, contestants will be required to submit a 5000 word manuscript to be assessed as suitable for proper book writing.
- The names of the selected authors will be announced on August 15, 2021, on the occasion of Independence Day.
- Based on the mentorship, selected authors will prepare manuscripts for final selection under the guidance of the assigned mentor.
- Winning entries will be ready for publication by December 15, 2021.
- Published books can be inaugurated on January 12, 2022 on Youth Day or National Youth Day.

- The age of the applicant must be less than 30 years.
- Applicants can apply for this scheme from any state in India.
- If you live abroad and are not a permanent resident of India, you cannot apply.
- Only young writers can apply on the portal.
