BC Sakhi Yojana 2021
Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath ji has started UP BC Sakhi Yojana for women of the state, according to the government, this scheme will provide employment to about 58 thousand women of the state.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji announced on May 22, 2020, under the plan of Banking Correspondent Sakhi Yojana that 58 thousand “Banking Correspondent Sakhi” will be deployed in the state which will provide banking facilities in the state. The new UP Banking Correspondent Sakhi Yojana will help rural women to work for earning and reduce the stress of bank account holders.
One of the main objectives of this scheme is also to stop the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) as people will not have to line up in the bank and can stay home during the lockdown. Women from rural areas will now transact banking services and money at people’s homes through digital mode.

Number of jobs in UP BC Sakhi Yojana
Only women applicants will get jobs in this scheme and CM has announced that about 58 thousand women will get employment. Women belonging to rural areas will get priority to provide banking services to the people at their doorstep.

Salary and benefits to women from UP BC Sakhi scheme
As the government’s Banking Correspondent Sakhi Yojana is for the women of the state, therefore, the following amount will be provided as salary to every selected women who will do the job of this banking correspondent Sakhi by the UP government:
- In BC Sakhi Yojana 2021, every enrolled women will be given a salary of Rs 4,000 per month for the next 6 months.
- Apart from this, banks will provide commissions on every transaction done through digital mode to ensure guaranteed monthly income to BC Sakhi women.
- The state government will provide an assistance amount of Rs 50,000 to each banking partner for purchasing digital devices.
Implementation of BC Sakhi Scheme
CM Yogi Adityanath has allocated a revolving fund of Rs 218.49 crore to about 35,938 self-help groups (SHGs) to implement the UP banking correspondent Sakhi scheme.
This amount has been released on 22 May 2020 under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). This fund will help women working in non-government organizations who are making masks, plates, spices and sewing / crafting.
UP BC Sakhi Yojana FAQ’s
It is an employment scheme for rural women announced by the Uttar Pradesh government. Under this scheme, work will be done to provide banking services to the people at home. The main objective of the scheme is to reduce long queues in banks due to Covid-19 disease.

The total jobs provided in the UP Banking Correspondent Scheme are 58,000.
As per the initial guidelines, the BC Sakhi selected under this scheme will be given a salary of 4000 per month and along with that they will also receive commission by the bank on every digital transaction.
The Banking Correspondent will also be given Rs 50,000 for the purchase of digital devices to provide banking services to bank account holders.
According to preliminary guidelines, this job is not permanent. Will enroll rural women to perform banking services for 6 months based on salary. It is a contractual type of job. However, it may be possible that after 6 months, the UP government can select women for a permanent job.
