The Jharkhand government has given a special gift to the farmers in the cabinet meeting to forgive the farmers ‘debt. The government has approved the allocation of Rs 2000 crore to forgive the farmers’ debt. Under the Kisan loan waiver scheme, people’s loans up to 50000 thousand rupees will be forgiven even if the loan is taken from any bank.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has approved the allocation of provisional amount of Rs 2,000 crore for the Jharkhand Kisan Debt Waiver Scheme.

Farm Loan Waiver Scheme – Krishi Rin Mafi
Jharkhand Kisan Debt Waiver Scheme 2020 and Crop Relief Scheme 2020 are going to start from 1 January 2021 for all the farmer brothers of the state . For the Krishi Rin Mafi Yojana (kisan karj mafi 2020) in Jharkhand, the state government will waive loans of farmers up to Rs 50000 per farmer.

The Jharkhand State Government is determined to develop the people associated with the agricultural sector. To connect the farmers of the state to the main stream, the state government will start the Jharkhand Farm Loan Waiver Scheme (Kisan Rin Mafi Yojana) and also the crop relief scheme.
Various public welfare schemes have been announced in Jharkhand’s budget 2020-21. These schemes include Jharkhand Agriculture Loan Waiver Scheme, unemployment allowance, free electricity, free treatment for critical illnesses, and universal scholarship for CBSE students.
Krishi Rin Mafi Yojana Loan Cut Off Date
Cut off date: The loan amount is taken till 31 March 2020 will be transferred through DBT to bank accounts of farmers taking loan. The state government is considering one person from each family under this scheme, but before that the person will be charged a token of 1 rupee.
The Jharkhand government has decided to introduce a short-term agricultural loan waiver scheme for farmers whose income goes towards repaying agricultural loans. Agricultural loans up to Rs 50,000 will be waived in the first phase of the Jharkhand Agriculture Rafi Waiver Scheme 2021.
The state government has allocated Rs 2,000 crore for the Jharkhand Kisan Debt Waiver Scheme for farmers in the state. Under the Jharkhand Kisan loan waiver scheme, up to 50 thousand rupees will be waived for about 9 lakh farmers of the state.

Beneficiaries of Kisan Karj Mafi Yojana
According to the data, about 12.98 lakh farmer brothers have taken loans in the state, under which the banks owe about Rs 5,800 crore. Out of the total accounts, about 9 lakh are active and others are inactive i.e. other accounts have gone to NPA (Non-performing asset) account.
Among the other active accounts remaining, the Jharkhand state government hopes that 7 lakh farmers will benefit from the Jharkhand Kisan Debt Waiver Scheme.
A state-level committee has been formed under the Agriculture Minister, which presents crop lender data. Different banks will have to link Aadhaar to the account to enable crop loans to get the benefit of the Jharkhand Farm Loan Waiver Scheme. So far 6 lakh Aadhaar cards have been enabled out of 12 lakh loan accounts. The department is constructing a web portal to fulfill this objective so that the Aadhaar enabled process can be made easier.

Another major project for farmers has been approved by the state cabinet. It has been decided that the Jharkhand Crop Relief Scheme will replace the Central Government’s Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme. Under this, the state government will not provide money to insurance companies but will send money directly to the accounts of the farmers for the losses so that the losses from the crop can be repaid.
