The Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced a new scheme for women in the budget for the financial year 2021-22, “Mahila Samarthi Yojana” and along with this a provision of Rs 200 crore has been made in the budget for the scheme. The state government has made a budgetary provision of Rs 200 crore for the successful implementation of the Mahila Samarthi Yojana.

UP Mahila Samarthya Yojana 2021

Uttar Pradesh government is going to start UP Mahila Samridhi Yojana 2021. This is a special initiative of the UP government led by UP Mahila Samarthya Yojana CM Yogi Adityanath. The scheme for the welfare and empowerment of women will be implemented in 800 blocks of the state.

To bring the women of Uttar Pradesh forward on the path of development, a new scheme namely UP Mahila Samridhi Yojana 2021 will be launched by the government.

In the UP Budget 2021-22 presented on 22 February, the government has announced the launch of the Women’s Empowerment Scheme. The purpose of this scheme is to motivate women for employment and to raise their standard of living through home and cottage industries based on local resources. Under this scheme, markets will also be made available by the government for women to sell their produce.

Formation of two level committees for the scheme

Under this scheme of the Uttar Pradesh government, two-level committees will be formed at the state and district levels. District-level committees will be constituted under the chairmanship of district magistrates and will work in coordination with the state-level steering committee to encourage women’s employment in the state.

The committee constituted in each district will identify and guide eligible women groups and organizations.

To promote women entrepreneurs of the state, general awareness, mentoring programs, exposure visits, seminars, workshops and training programs will be organized under this scheme.

Establishment of women common facility centers

In the first phase of the UP Mahila Samarthya Yojana, Women General Facilitation Centers will be set up in 200 development blocks. These centers will be set up for training, general production and processing, technical research and development, packaging, labeling, barcoding facilities, and more.

The state government will bear 90 percent of the expenditure on each common facility center.

Objectives of Mahila Samarthya Scheme

There are more than 90 lakh micro, small and medium enterprises in the state. Of these, more than 80 lakhs are set up in micro-units, which operate under the home and cottage industries. Women-oriented enterprises have an important role in these industries and this flagship scheme of the Government of Uttar Pradesh will give new flying to women and women-oriented enterprises.

Mahila Samarthya – Uttar Pradesh Budget 2021-22

In the state budget, it has also been proposed to implement the Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala scheme by further refining, under which a provision of Rs 1,200 crore has been made to provide tablets to all eligible girls.

To overcome the problem of malnutrition in women and children, Chief Minister Saksham Suchitran Yojana will be conducted from the financial year 2021-22 and the government has made a provision of Rs 100 crore.

In addition, a budget provision of Rs 4,094 crore has been made for the nutrition program and Rs 415 crore for the National Nutrition Campaign. In the budget, Rs 32 crore is proposed for the establishment of Mahila Shakti Kendras. Apart from this, there has been talk of setting up a special campaign for women safety and women’s help desk.
